Let’s face it.

If they don’t open your email, nothing else matters.

Your subject line is the gatekeeper.

It’s the one thing standing between you and your next sale.

And yet… most people treat it like an afterthought.

They write the whole email first. Then slap a subject line on it at the end.

Big mistake.

The subject line is everything.

Here’s how to write ones that actually get opened.

Keep It Short Most people check email on their phone.

If your subject line is longer than 6–8 words, it gets cut off.

That means your hook—the reason they should open—never gets seen.

So keep it tight.

Make It About Them No one cares about you. They care about what’s in it for them.

So ditch the “update” subject lines.

Use curiosity. Use benefit. Use fear of missing out.

Examples:

  • This changes how you make money online
  • You’ve never seen this before
  • $100/day? Do this first

Avoid Spam Triggers Words like “free,” “guaranteed,” and “money” can send your email to the junk folder.

Instead of “Make $500 Fast”… Try: “How I hit $500/day (by accident)”

Still grabs attention. Less likely to get flagged.

Use Personalization (When You Can) First names work. So does location or behavior.

Examples:

  • “Will, this made me $1,100 yesterday”
  • “You left this behind…”

You don’t need fancy tools. Just a decent autoresponder.

Test Everything Split test two subject lines.

Send half your list version A. The other half version B.

Do more of what works. Ditch what doesn’t.

It’s not rocket science. It’s just testing.

And if you want the exact subject lines I use…
